When the history books are written and the linear title paths are traced back with fingers running along pages (or futuristic tablets), it will be Ronda Rousey's name next to Royce Gracie, Mark Coleman, Frank Shamrock, Jens Pulver, Pat Miletich, Jose Aldo, Dominick Cruz and Demetrious Johnson as the first human beings to have multiple pounds of championship metal wrapped around their waist inside the Octagon. That's right, TMZ has reported that the Strikeforce women's division is dissolved and Ronda Rousey is the first female UFC champion. It's done, **** just got real and it makes me think women's suffrage would've ended a lot quicker if the chicks new how to tear an arm apart like a turkey at dinner.

Props to TMZ once again for breaking unbelievable MMA news. My God. Ronda will be defending her title sometime in early 2013 (hopefully against Cyborg but it's whatever) and our minds are collectively blown.

Oh yeah, after January it looks like Strikeforce is all but dead. Damn.

MMA is getting watered down more and more each day. A lot of the MMA fans were already unimpressed by the addition of the flyweights because of the lack of talent & finishes in the weight class, now with the addition of the women, the MMA fans will get a lot more of that, but thankfully only in 3 monute rounds. Let have this "SUperfight" of Steroid Santos & Honda Housey & see if any talent emerges in the mean time, but I foresee this being a short lived novelty. WMMA's popularity will fade off and hopefully go back to Japan.

Cyborg was suspended in January 2012 for a year. The fight with Ronda would've been scheduled for March 2012. There's no way the fight could've happened. So how did Ronda duck Cyborg?

If Ronda didn't request the fight against Miesha Tate than her career would've been in limbo after Cyborg was suspended. Ronda took the initiative and formulated a successful strategy to advance her career and bring attention to women's mma.
